Chapter 7 - Arabella

"Oh, Hunter...what happened to you" Arabella whispered, her voice breaking off. This man in the bed in front of her, he was her friend. Arabella remembered Hunter as a strong man that was sarcastic and funny and unbelievably kind. He was full of life and he had so much to look forward to. The man that she was looking at now was hardly the same man. Broken, frail and so unhealthy. Arabella covered her mouth as a sob started to overwhelm her and she put her head down on the bed. She felt guilty that she hadn't kept in touch with Hunter, she felt so devestated to see him so sick and she felt angry; angry at the Gods for not helping him. After everything that Hunter had done for them, why couldn't they help him? Especially Artemis. Hunter was so good to her and helped her out so much. Who cares if he had renounced his oath. He was still the same person and she could have done something, anything to help him.

Arabella turned her eyes to the sky, she didn't know if he was listening, but she was damn well going to try "Apollo, please..help Hunte, help heal himr. If anyone deserves it, it's him" she whispered, waiting for something, anything. A sign that Apollo was listening or that anyone was listening. After a moment, she closed her eyes. It felt like her heart was breaking into a million pieces and Apollo was running over them with his stupid Maserati. Arabella took Hunter's hand and looked up at him. She was going to help him. She didn't care what he said or how much he was going to protest. Arabella was going to make sure that he was okay. Someone walked into the room, a nurse. Arabella wiped her tears and looked up at her.

"Ms.Foster? There's someone here from the insurance company, he'd like to speak to you" The nurse said to her in a gentle tone. Arabella nodded and looked down at Hunter. She pressed her lips to his forhead for a moment, wishing that she didn't have to leave.

"I'll be back soon" Arabella whispered to him. She knew that he probably couldn't hear her, but that didn't stop her from talking to him. Arabella ran her fingers over his hair then turned and walked out of the room.
