Chapter 19 - Arabella

Arabella gave Hunter a little smile and she slipped out of the limo, looking up at the place where they stopped for lunch "Oh, David..you know me so well" she laughed and grabbed her purse "We won't be long!" she called to him and walked into the restaurant with Hunter. It was a pretty nice place for lunch, called 1Or8. It was Arabella's favorite Japanese place in all of New York.

Once they were sitting at their spot, Arabella looked over at Hunter with a smile on her face. He had told her something about his life, his history. With a little bit of a shock, she realized that Hunter had never told her anything about his past. Arabella didn't even think that he knew anything about his parents.

"Have you ever had sushi before?" Arabella asked Hunter, opening up her menu. She looked up at him and he glanced around at the pristine building, looking slightly uncomfortable. Arabella assumed that it was because the place was pretty fancy and everything was white. A little different from Hunter's entire life, basically.

"No, I haven't" Hunter told her, gingerly opening his menu. Arabella grinned at him and closed hers up quickly. When the waiter came over, Arabella smiled up at him and he looked a little flustered.

"I'll have a lychee martini and he'll have a glass of water?" Arabella asked and raised an eyebrow at Hunter in question. Hunter nodded and she turned back to the waiter "And we'll get the sushi boat" she added and looked down at the table when the waiter took away their menus.

It didn't take long for their food to get there, which was a good thing because Arabella's stomach was growling and the martini was not doing so well on an empty stomach. They ate in silence for a few minutes, but it wasn't uncomfortable. It was peaceful and easy. Being with Hunter was always easy for Arabella though. She couldn't explain it or tell you why, but she when she was with him she felt calm. She didn't feel like she had to put on an act or be something that she wasn't. She felt safe and secure, knowing that he wasn't going to let anything happen to her. Just being around him was more than enough for her.

"I don't know what we're going to do for supper tonight" Arabella said eventually with a little knit in her eyebrows "I really don't feel like getting take out again" she added with a roll of her eyes and a sip from her martini. Hunter swallowed the food that was in his mouth and gave Arabella a little shrug

"I could make dinner...if you want" Hunter said to her and Arabella nearly kissed him with joy. Ever since she had left Camp Half Blood, she was living off of take out food because there was a 99.9% chance that she would burn the entire building down if she tried to cook.

"That sounds incredible" Arabella sighed thankfully "We'll stop by the grocery store on the way home"

                                                       *****

Arabella was sitting on her living room floor, her legs curled under her and papers strewn in front of her. Her hair was twisted up into a messy bun and she had a couple pencils sticking out of it. The sun was setting now and light that was coming in the window and hitting her golden hair made it shimmer and look like pure gold. Arabella was sketching on a piece of paper, trying to get everything perfect. Fashion Week was coming up pretty soon and she was working on some last minute designs. The smell coming from the kitchen was divine and it was making her stomach growl. A home made meal. Just the thought of that was enough to make Arabella dance with joy. With a sigh, she leaned back, looking out the window for a moment. It would be nice to get away. Relax. Mostly, she was looking forward to spending time with Hunter.

"How is it going in there, Chef Ramsay?" Arabella called to Hunter with a smile on her face. She unfolded her legs, stood up and padded over to the kitchen, where Hunter was busy at work cooking something.

"Almost done" Hunter told her and he looked up at her briefly from his chopping "How about you? Everything going okay?" Arabella nodded and leaned against the wall, watching him work.

"Oh, yeah..I think so. Everything should work out fine, I'm just a little stressed out. Fashion Week is a pretty big deal and I need to make sure that everything is perfect. If there is one little mistake, my career could be on the line" Arabella said with a little sigh "But, I just have to have a little faith. Maybe the gods will help me" she added with a roll of her eyes. She went over to sit at the table as Hunter started putting the food on the plates.

"It's nothing special..steak, rice, vegetables and a salad" Hunter said, placing her food down in front of her then taking a seat himself. Arabella smiled over at him

"It's perfect. Much better than Thai take out" Arabella teased and dug into her meal. As she ate, she smiled softly to herself. They were leaving the city for the weekend in the morning, Hunter had made her a wonderful meal and well, she was with Hunter. Things were really starting to look up.
