Chapter 17 - Arabella

Was this really happening? Arabella didn't want to think about it. Couldn't she just go one week without something happening to her? When Arabella got the news, she was speechless. She didn't really know hoe to respond, at all. What was she supposed to say? Arabella was off in her own little world when Hunter walked in. It gave her a small shock to see him all made over. He looked like himself again and her mind flashed back to her dream of him kissing her. Arabella? Are you alright?

Arabella shook herself back to reality and took a slightly shaky breath and nodded lightly "Yeah..I guess" She said softly and nodded her head, looking down at her desk "The call from my dad was to tell me that my grandpa passed away last night" she told him in a small voice.

Hunter looked at her with sad eyes, clearly searching for the right words to say "Arabella..." he sighed. Arabella shook her head, wipping away a few tears as they fell. She didn't want him to feel bad for her or start worrying about her. That was the last thing she wanted

"He was a good man, but it was his time. He was getting pretty weak and Dad said that he got pneumonia last week. His body just want's strong enough to fight it" Arabella said with a shrug "He was nearly 95..he lived a good life" she added and looked at Hunter then looked out her window, wiping her eyes. She could remember spending a couple weeks almost every summer at his beach house. She cleared her throat and started flipping through her day planner

"I actually came up with an idea for a way for you to pay me back" Arabella told Hunter and she looked up at him for a brief moment through her eyelashes, seeing Hunter perk up a bit, then went back to her book "My grandpa left my dad this worn down beach house. It's an amazing building but it's super old and it needs a lot of work done on it. But my dad can't really do anything to it since he's in Maine and the house isn't far from Camp. So, he told me that I could do whatever I want with it as long as I don't paint it hot pink. Anyway, I was thinking that this weekend, we could go down there together and you could help me fix it up. What do you think?"

Arabella looked at Hunter, who seemed to be thinking it over. She didn't know if he was going to be interested in doing it at all, but it was a way for him to pay her back and unless he wanted to be a male model, this was his best choice. She watched as he thought about it for a moment before nodding "Yeah, sure. I'm glad to help out" he said to her.

With a small smile on her face, she scribbled the dates into her planner then picked up her phone "Emily, cancel the RSVP to Marc Jacobs' party. I'm going out of town this weekend. Could you also get the car for me? I'm going shopping and I won't be able to take a cab home. See if David is free. He is such a good driver. Thanks doll" she said and hung up the phone

"You know what always makes me happy when something has got me down?" Arabella asked Hunter with a mischievous glimmer in her eye "Shopping. I need to get some things for this weekend"

Hunter eyed her with a suspicious look in his eye. Arabella had just said some dangerous things. Besides, she was getting a car with a driver for this shopping trip. That could never be good "What kind of things..?" he asked her with a raised eyebrow

Arabella smirked at him and stood up, grabbing her purse and a huge binder that had pictures sticking out of it and was totally full with files and notes "You'll see" she teased and headed out of her office with him trailing behind her

"Emily, I'm leaving, probably for the rest of the day. Call me if anything pops up or you need help with something" Arabella said to her as she walked out of the door and into the elevator, pulling Hunter behind her. He looked a little worried about what he had just gotten himself into and Arabella giggled, not saying anything to him. It really wasn't going to be that bad of a shopping trip, but it was fun to see him squirm

Once they had gotten downstairs, she slipped into the back seat of the sleek, black car. Arabella leaned up to speak to the driver for a moment then leaned back into her seat "We'll have to get you a pair of swim trunks and maybe a pair of shorts too. I haven't made those yet" Arabella said to Hunter and grinned at him "You look amazing by the way, very handsome"

Hunter looked down at his clothes. "I would never wear any of this." He said as he straightened the buttons on his cardigan. "I'm more of a t-shirt and jeans kind of guy. I really like the haircut and shave, though." He muttered as he ran a hand across his neck and chin before running a hand through his finally clean hair. Arabella gave him a small smile and leaned over to him, looking at the cardigan. Quickly, she unbuttoned all of the buttons and tugged at it so that it was fitting on his arms right. She then unbuttoned a couple of the buttons from his polo and looked at him

"There, that's a bit more..you" Arabella said and smiled at him. When the car finally stopped at the Walmart, she nearly jumped out of the car in excitment "Thanks David! We'll be back soon!" she called to the driver and took Hunter's hand, dragging him into the store with her. She made him push the cart as she put more and more things into it. Swim trunks, shorts, flip flops, a couple bikinis, plastic glasses that were meant to be put in the freezer, plastic dishes, folding beach chairs, towels, bug spray, marshmallows, hot chocolate, hot dogs, chips, pop, crackers, pancake batter..the list could go on and on. Being in such a big store was like heaven to Arabella. So many things to buy. So many deals!

As soon as they were done at Walmart, Arabella got David to drive them to the liquor store. Hunter raised his eyebrows at Arabella but he didn't say a word as she slipped in and using her fake ID and her Charmspeaking abilities, was able to walk out with a couple bags of stuff. "To my apartment David, please" she said and sat back in her seat taking a deep breath

"This should be fun" She said to Hunter, wiggling her eyebrows with a smirk on her face. She was determined to make this weekend a good one, Hunter was going to have fun and he was going to let loose. Arabella wouldn't settle for anything less.
